NAVY PIER MARINA

STORY

The concept of a marina at Navy Pier was born decades ago by avid boaters. Perfected in 2016 as the preeminent transient marina on the Great Lakes, Navy Pier Marina was envisioned by the project developer, Randy D. Podolsky, a Chicago born and raised entrepreneur, out of need for a Lake Michigan boating destination that could offer boaters short-term, transient docking as well as quick and convenient access to dining, lodging and entertainment at Navy Pier and the City of Chicago.

Navy Pier Marina provides boaters a one-of-a-kind Lake Michigan boating experience. The first and only dedicated transient marina on Lake Michigan, Navy Pier Marina will offer exclusive and direct access to Navy Pier and the City of Chicago with hourly, nightly and longer stay docking options. All at the heart of the City.

Located at one of the most popular destinations in the world, Navy Pier Marina connects boaters, for the first time, directly to hundreds of dining, shopping and entertainment options. With an online reservation system, boaters will be able to quickly and easily reserve space just like reserving a hotel room, providing a new destination to Chicago’s magnificent waterfront.

Navy Pier Marina is being developed by NPM Venture LLC, Riverwoods, IL with private funding on behalf of Navy Pier Inc., as an amenity for Navy Pier, the City of Chicago and the greater boating community. Randy D. Podolsky is Manager of NPM Venture.

The project is projected to add significant incremental economic revenues to the City and local businesses, and provide several full time jobs and more than a dozen seasonal jobs.

Construction is scheduled to commence shortly after Chicago's DOT issues the final construction permit, which we have been awaiting for several years.
